All 10 IPL franchises have begun disbanding with their players and support staff, particularly the overseas players, following the BCCI’s decision to postpone the league for one week due to border tensions between India and Pakistan. The announcement came after BCCI officials received a call from government authorities on May 9, prompting immediate action. The safety and well-being of all involved were prioritized, with players and staff already starting to return home. Overseas players, feeling anxious over the military confrontation, are making arrangements to depart India. The Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings players are traveling back to Delhi from Dharamsala, while the Lucknow Super Giants vs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru match was suspended. Cricket Australia, New Zealand’s players’ association, and Cricket West Indies are closely monitoring the situation in the region. The PSL has been moved to the UAE as a precaution. The BCCI will provide further updates on the IPL schedule and venues after assessing the situation.
