This event comes on the heels of the historic IPL 2025 player auction, where Rishabh Pant clinched the title of the most expensive player in IPL history with his Rs. 27 crore move to Lucknow Super Giants. While Mitchell Starc still holds the record for the highest bid among overseas players at Rs. 24.75 crore, some familiar faces like Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis will be missing from the IPL 2026 auction.
