The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Monday that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final, originally scheduled for May 25, has been postponed to a later date. The decision comes after the league was suspended following the postponement of the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on May 8.
The league was put on hold as the two South Asian nations agreed to a ‘full and immediate ceasefire’ on May 10. The BCCI quickly worked on resuming the IPL and released a modified schedule on May 12. The IPL 2025 final will now take place on June 3 instead of the previously scheduled May 25. While the old schedule had the final set to be played at Eden Gardens, the new schedule does not specify a confirmed venue yet.
With 16 matches remaining in the 18th edition of the IPL, including the playoffs, Gujarat Titans currently lead the points table with 16 points. Seven teams are still in contention for a spot in the playoffs as the league enters its final stretch. For more information on the modified IPL 2025 schedule, visit the official IPL website.
