The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume on Saturday. After consulting with government and security agencies, as well as key stakeholders, the BCCI has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season. The first match will be played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium at 7:30pm IST.
The tournament was put on hold after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was abandoned due to heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan. The same match will be replayed in Jaipur on May 24. With 17 matches left, including the Playoffs, the 18th edition of the IPL is in its final stretch. Gujarat Titans currently leads the points table with 16 points, with seven teams vying for a spot in the playoffs.
The full schedule for the remaining matches has been released, with games scheduled up until the Final on June 3. Matches will take place in various cities including Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. The Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final will determine the ultimate champion of the 2025 IPL season. Fans can look forward to exciting cricket action as the season resumes this weekend.
