Rajasthan Royals made a significant move at the IPL 2025 Auction by securing England pacer Jofra Archer for Rs 12.5 crores, well above his base price. In addition to Archer, RR strengthened their squad with key overseas acquisitions, including Sri Lankan duo Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana. Former Mumbai Indians player Akash Madhwal also joined RR. Archer, who previously played for RR from 2018-2021 before joining MI in 2023, expressed his excitement at returning to the team. Theekshana, the first player picked in the auction, has been a key player for Chennai Super Kings since 2022. Hasaranga, known as one of the world’s top T20 bowlers, brings vast experience to RR. The auction also saw Rishabh Pant become the most expensive player in IPL history, with Lucknow Super Giants securing him for Rs 27 crores. The squad also includes players like Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Riyan Parag. RR has a purse remaining of Rs. 0.30 crore, no RTM cards left, and 5 player slots remaining, with 2 overseas player slots still open.
