A few weeks ago, Rishabh Pant hinted at a major change in a late-night tweet, and it has now been officially confirmed that the Delhi Capitals have released their star player ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. In his tweet, Pant raised the question of whether he will be sold at the auction and for how much. Fans are eagerly awaiting the auction as teams gear up to compete for one of the biggest names in the tournament’s history.

The Delhi Capitals have retained four players: Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, and Abishek Porel. Co-owner Parth Jindal expressed his satisfaction with the retentions, emphasizing the mix of experience and youth in the retained players. The team will enter the auction with two Right to Match (RTM) cards, keeping the possibility open for former players to return.

Despite reaching the finals in 2020 and finishing in the top two the following year, the Delhi Capitals have faced challenges in recent seasons, finishing fifth, ninth, and sixth in the last three IPL campaigns.

In the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction, the Delhi Capitals have retained Axar Patel (INR 16.50 crore), Kuldeep Yadav (INR 13.25 crore), Tristan Stubbs (INR 10 crore), and Abishek Porel (INR 4 crore). The list of released players is yet to be updated.
