The 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to kick off on March 22 with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders facing off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens. However, several players have already withdrawn from the tournament due to various reasons.
One such player is England batter Harry Brook, who opted out of the IPL to focus on his national team commitments. As a result, he has been banned from participating in the league for two seasons. Brook was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 6.25 crore but will not be available for the upcoming season.
Another player who will be missing from the IPL action is Brydon Carse, who sustained a toe injury during England’s ICC Champions Trophy match against Australia. Carse, who was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 1 crore, has been replaced by South African Wiaan Mulder for Rs. 75 lakh.
South African fast bowler Lizaad Williams will also be absent from the IPL due to injury. He was signed by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 75 lakh but will be replaced by compatriot Corbin Bosch. Additionally, Afghan leg-spinner Allah Ghazanfar will miss the tournament due to an injury sustained before the ICC Champions Trophy. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 4.80 crore and will be replaced by Mujeeb Ur Rahman for Rs. 2 crore.
Overall, these players will be missed in the upcoming IPL season, but their replacements are ready to step in and make an impact for their respective teams.
