MS Dhoni, captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), acknowledged that his team fell short by 15-20 runs in their recent loss to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2025 season. CSK, currently at the bottom of the points table with only 4 points from 9 matches, were bowled out for 154 while batting first. Dhoni highlighted the need for improvement in the middle overs to capitalize on good starts and score more runs.
Dhoni praised Dewald Brevis for his performance in his debut match for CSK, emphasizing the importance of solid middle-order batting against spinners. He also critiqued his team’s overall performance, stating that it becomes challenging when multiple key players underperform. Dhoni stressed the importance of making necessary changes in the playing XI when a significant number of players are struggling.
CSK will face Punjab Kings next in their upcoming match on April 30th at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
