Rishabh Pant emerged as the highest bid player, fetching Rs 27 crore as he joined the Lucknow Super Giants, while Shreyas Iyer was acquired by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore. Jos Buttler became the most expensive overseas player in the auction, being bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 15.75 crore. In total, out of the 204 available slots, 182 were filled with a whopping total expenditure of Rs 639.15 crore, surpassing the previous year’s auction total of Rs 551.70 crore.
Punjab Kings, with the largest purse of Rs 110.50 crore, ended up spending Rs 110.15 crore during the auction, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru invested Rs 82.25 crore. The team-wise distribution of the total amount spent during the IPL 2025 mega auction is as follows:
