The Gujarat Titans (GT) will defend their unbeaten home record against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in an upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. GT has emerged victorious in all three previous encounters with MI in Ahmedabad over the past two seasons.

Both teams are coming off losses in their season openers. MI fell to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the road, while GT lost a high-scoring match against Punjab Kings at home.

MI seems to have a surplus of talent in their batting lineup, including Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton, Will Jacks, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav. However, they struggled to utilize their potential in the match against CSK. Captain Hardik Pandya will return to the lineup after missing the previous game due to a ban for an over-rate violation.

GT’s bowling unit will be a concern, with newly-acquired pacers Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada struggling in the previous match. Spinner Rashid Khan also had an off day, conceding 48 runs. Left-arm spinner R. Sai Kishore was a standout performer, taking three wickets.

MI will look to exploit GT’s bowling weaknesses and aim to secure their first win in Ahmedabad. The middle order of GT will need to step up to support the top three batsmen. The match promises to be an exciting contest between two competitive teams.
