Gujarat Giants are aiming for a fresh start in the upcoming Women’s Premier League season. After finishing at the bottom of the table for two consecutive seasons, they are looking to turn their fortunes around with a new leadership group led by head coach Michael Klinger. The team boasts a strong Australian core but has struggled with the inexperience of its domestic players in the past. They made some key signings at the auction, including Deandra Dottin and Simran Shaikh, and have a potent spin attack led by new captain Ashleigh Gardner. The Giants have also seen changes in their coaching staff and leadership, with Gardner taking over as captain from Beth Mooney. With a squad that includes players like Laura Wolvaardt, Harleen Deol, and Dottin, the Giants will be looking to make a mark in the upcoming season, starting with their opening match against the defending champions on February 14 at the newly-inaugurated Kotambi stadium in Vadodara.
