The Gujarat Titans have finalized their list of retained and released players for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. The team had until November 15 to submit this information to the BCCI in preparation for the mini-auction scheduled for December.
During the IPL 2025 season, the Gujarat Titans performed well for most of the league phase but experienced a late slump, losing their final three games, including the Eliminator match against the Mumbai Indians.
The released players from the Gujarat Titans include Mahipal Lomror, Karim Janat, Dasun Shanaka, Sherfane Rutherford (who was traded to MI), Gerald Coetzee, and Kulwant Khejroliya. On the other hand, the retained players are led by captain Shubman Gill and include key players like Jos Buttler, Washington Sundar, Rashid Khan, and Kagiso Rabada.
Sherfane Rutherford was the only player traded out, going to the Mumbai Indians. The team still has a purse remaining of Rs. 12.90 crore for the upcoming season.
The list of retained and released players provides insight into the team’s strategy for the upcoming season as they aim to build a competitive squad for the IPL 2026 campaign. The team management will now focus on the mini-auction to fill any gaps in the squad and strengthen their lineup for the challenges ahead. The confirmed list sets the stage for an exciting season for the Gujarat Titans and their fans.
