In Sunday’s double-header, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings qualified for the playoffs in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Punjab Kings secured their spot with a 10-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals, while Gujarat Titans confirmed the qualification by also winning by 10 wickets against Delhi Capitals. This left Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants vying for the final playoff spot.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru missed out on qualifying by just one point after a washed-out game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Punjab Kings joined RCB in the playoffs after their win against Rajasthan, both teams ending with 17 points each. However, their qualification was not confirmed until Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi.
For the final playoff spot, Mumbai Indians need to win both their remaining games, Delhi Capitals must win both of theirs, and Lucknow Super Giants will need to win all their remaining matches and rely on other teams losing points. Delhi Capitals started strong but have slipped in the latter part of the season, making their qualification uncertain. Lucknow Super Giants, despite having more games left, face an uphill battle due to their inconsistent form.
