Glenn Maxwell of Punjab Kings was fined 25% of his match fees and received one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during a match against Chennai Super Kings. The incident took place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, where Punjab Kings emerged victorious. Maxwell admitted to the Level 1 offence of abuse of fixtures and fittings during the match, as per the BCCI’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials.
In a spectacular display of batting, young opener Priyansh Arya scored his maiden IPL century, helping Punjab Kings secure a win over Chennai Super Kings. Arya’s impressive innings of 103 off 42 balls included seven fours and nine sixes. Despite a strong effort from Devon Conway, Shivam Dube, and Rachin Ravindran, Chennai Super Kings fell short of the target set by Punjab Kings. MS Dhoni’s late cameo was not enough to secure a victory for CSK, leading to their fourth consecutive loss in the season.
This match marked an important moment for both teams, with Punjab Kings maintaining their position in the top four of the IPL 2025 points table, while Chennai Super Kings dropped to the ninth spot.
