Following the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to India-Pakistan border tensions, most foreign recruits have returned to their respective countries. The decision to halt the high-profile T20 League came after the Punjab Kings versus Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was abandoned midway due to air raid alerts in neighboring cities. Franchises like Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have safely returned their players and support staff to their hometowns. RCB’s foreign contingent includes Tim David, Liam Livingstone, and others, along with support staff like head coach Andy Flower. Lucknow Super Giants confirmed that some overseas players have left, while others opted to stay. Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders players have also departed for their respective locations. The BCCI secretary mentioned that updates on the revised schedule and venues for the remainder of the tournament will be shared after assessing the situation. The suspension of the IPL follows India’s missile strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
