Mumbai Indians gave a warm welcome to Jasprit Bumrah as he returned to the team after a long break due to a back injury. Kieron Pollard, MI’s batting coach, lifted Bumrah in celebration, calling him “Mufasa” in reference to ‘The Lion King’. The camp responded with applause and laughter. Bumrah’s absence was felt by MI, who struggled in the early matches of the season. However, his return could turn things around as they faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed Bumrah’s availability for the upcoming game. Bumrah had been out of action since January after sustaining a back injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The team also received positive news about Rohit Sharma’s injury, with Jayawardene stating that Rohit was expected to be fit for the next game. With Bumrah back in the lineup and Rohit’s potential return, Mumbai Indians will be looking to improve their performance and get their campaign back on track.
