Fakhar Zaman, the Pakistan opening batter, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Champions Trophy 2025 after sustaining an oblique injury during the tournament opener against New Zealand. Pakistan have named Imam-ul-Haq as his replacement. Zaman got injured while fielding in the opening game against New Zealand, and although he returned to the field later in the match, he struggled with running between the wickets. Pakistan fell short in their chase of 320 runs, losing by 60 runs in the opener. Imam-ul-Haq, who last played for Pakistan in 2023, has been called up as Zaman’s replacement. The defending champions will play their next match against India on February 23 followed by a game against Bangladesh on February 27.
