Brendan Doggett, the fast bowler, has been released from Australia’s Test squad in order to join the Adelaide Strikers for the opening week of the Big Bash League (BBL). Doggett was brought into the squad prior to the second Test against India following an injury to Josh Hazlewood, and he stayed with the team for the Brisbane Test as well.

Despite being in the Test squad, Doggett was not expected to play in Strikers’ first game against Sydney Thunder in Canberra. Last season, he only appeared in one match for the Strikers. Along with Doggett, Sean Abbott was also added to the squad, but he had to return to Sydney early due to the birth of his second child. Abbott ended up playing for the Sydney Sixers in their opening BBL game against the Melbourne Renegades.

With Doggett’s availability for the Strikers, they will be bolstered by his presence in the upcoming matches. The BBL season is off to an exciting start with talented players like Doggett and Abbott making an impact for their respective teams. Fans can look forward to some thrilling cricket action as the competition heats up in the coming weeks.
