South African cricketer Dewald Brevis recently shared his experience of sharing the dressing room with legendary player Mahendra Singh Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings during the last season of IPL. Despite going unsold in the mega auction, CSK signed Brevis as a replacement player mid-season, where he quickly became a fan favorite with his impressive performances. Brevis showcased his power-hitting ability by scoring 225 runs in just 6 matches at a strike rate of 180.00, making him a strong contender for retention by the team.

Brevis praised Dhoni for his humility and approachability, mentioning how the former captain always kept his room open for teammates and people around him, except when he was asleep. The Proteas youngster revealed that he often visited Dhoni’s room to chat about hobbies and watch cricket together. He described the experience of spending time with Dhoni off the field as special and valuable.

Brevis has been in top form in T20 cricket this year, scoring 995 runs from 30 innings at an average of 43.26 and a strike rate of 186.32. His impressive performance includes six fifties, a century, and a career-best unbeaten 125. The young cricketer expressed his admiration for Dhoni’s personality off the pitch and cherished the moments he shared with the iconic captain during his time at CSK.
