Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during the team’s recent IPL match against Mumbai Indians. The match saw Mumbai Indians scoring 205 for 5 in 20 overs, while Delhi Capitals was all out for 193 in 19 overs.
According to the BCCI, this was Delhi Capitals’ first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate offences. As a result, Axar Patel was fined Rs 12 lakhs for the violation.
Despite this being DC’s first loss of the tournament, Axar Patel’s struggles continued as he has yet to take any wickets in five games and has only managed to score 67 runs with the bat.
Overall, the match was a disappointing one for Delhi Capitals, but they will need to regroup and focus on improving their performance in the upcoming games. The team will be looking to bounce back from this setback and put up a stronger showing in their future matches.
