Ashutosh Sharma showcased his talent and determination in the recent IPL match between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. Despite suffering from a cut finger, Sharma played a crucial role in Delhi’s victory by scoring an unbeaten 66 runs off just 31 balls. Head coach Hemang Badani commended Sharma’s ‘tiger mentality’ for choosing to play despite the injury.

The match seemed out of reach for Delhi Capitals as they were struggling at 65/5 while chasing 210. However, Sharma, along with Viprag Nigam, turned the game around with a partnership of 55 runs for the seventh wicket. With six runs needed off the final over and only one wicket in hand, Sharma sealed the victory with a six down the ground.

Sharma’s outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award, which he dedicated to his mentor Shikhar Dhawan. The duo shared a video call after the game. Delhi Capitals will face SunRisers Hyderabad next, with KL Rahul expected to return to the team after missing the previous match due to the birth of his first child.
