Former Australian cricketer David Warner has been named as the captain of Karachi Kings for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10. Warner, who went unsold in the IPL auction, was selected by Karachi Kings during the PSL draft on January 13. This will be Warner’s first appearance in the PSL, and he is set to lead the team with his aggressive batting style and strong leadership skills.
Known for being a destructive left-handed opener, Warner has been a key player for Australia in both ODIs and T20s. He has previously captained teams in the Big Bash League (BBL) and is considered one of the most dangerous openers in world cricket. In the previous season, Shan Masood captained Karachi Kings and played a vital role in nurturing young talent. Masood will now be part of the squad under Warner’s leadership.
Karachi Kings picked Warner in the Platinum category during the PSL 10 draft and have entrusted him with the captaincy role. Franchise owner Salman Iqbal expressed his excitement about Warner joining the team, noting that his aggressive batting approach will bring a fresh perspective to Karachi Kings and enhance the team’s performance. He also commended Masood for his contributions in the previous season, acknowledging the solid foundation he laid for the team.
