The BBL15 Team of the Tournament has been announced, with David Warner leading the squad as captain despite being selected as a non-opener. Cricket Australia unveiled a 12-player best BBL team for the 15th season, with the Melbourne Stars having the most representatives (five). The team comprised players from six of the eight BBL franchises, with no players from Melbourne Renegades or Hobart Hurricanes making the cut.
Newcomers to the team include Sam Harper, who was named player of the tournament, and Finn Allen, who has been in exceptional form this season. Warner, after not opening in his initial games, found success when placed back at the top of the order, securing the Golden Bat award with outstanding performances.
The team also includes the top five run-scorers and five of the top-six wicket-takers from the BBL season. Notable selections include Marcus Stoinis, chosen for a record-equalling fifth time, and Aaron Hardie, named for the third time in four seasons.
BBL boss Alistair Dobson praised the team’s mix of experienced and emerging stars, highlighting the dedication and talent displayed by the players. The team was selected by head coaches for their exceptional performances throughout the summer.
