The IPL 2026 mini auction took place in Abu Dhabi and saw all 77 players being sold for a total amount of Rs. 215.45 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders emerged as the highest spender in the auction, with a purse that was over Rs. 20 crore more than their closest competitor.

The Chennai Super Kings squad for IPL 2026 has been finalized with the following retained players: Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Ayush Mhatre, M.S. Dhoni, Dewald Brevis, Urvil Patel, Shivam Dube, Jamie Overton, Ramakrishna Ghosh, Noor Ahmad, Khaleel Ahmed, Anshul Kamboj, Gurjapneet Singh, Shreyas Gopal, Mukesh Choudhary, Nathan Ellis. They also acquired Sanju Samson from RR through a trade.

In addition to the retained players, Chennai Super Kings made several new acquisitions in the auction. They bought Kartik Sharma for 14.20 cr, Prashant Veer for 14.20 cr, Rahul Chahar for 5.20 cr, Akeal Hosein for 2 cr, Matt Henry for 2 cr, Matthew Short for 1.50 cr, Aman Khan for 40 L, Sarfaraz Khan for 75 L, and Zakary Foulkes for 75 L.

The Chennai Super Kings squad for IPL 2026 is now complete and ready for the upcoming season. The details of the auction and the final squad were published on December 17, 2025.
