Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has officially announced Ayush Mhatre as the replacement for the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad, as reported by Sportstar. Mhatre, a 17-year-old right-handed batter from Mumbai, has played nine First-Class matches and seven List A games, scoring close to 962 runs. He was selected by the CSK team management for his aggressive batting style and joins the squad for INR 30 Lakh.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has signed Smaran R to replace the injured Adam Zampa for the remainder of IPL 2025. Smaran, a left-handed batter, has played seven First-Class games, 10 List A matches, and six T20s, accumulating over 1100 runs. He was a key player in Karnataka’s Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning squad, contributing crucial knocks in the knockouts, including a 76 in the semifinal against Haryana. Smaran joins SRH for INR 30 Lakh.
Both Ayush Mhatre and Smaran R have been given the opportunity to showcase their talent in the IPL as replacements for the injured players. Their performances will be closely watched as they aim to make an impact for their respective teams in the ongoing tournament.
