The return of MS Dhoni as the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) did not bring any change in their fortunes as they suffered a heavy defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Former New Zealand pacer Danny Morrison raised questions about the motivation of senior players like Ravichandran Ashwin after the loss. CSK managed only 103/9 in their innings, with Vijay Shankar being the top-scorer with 29 runs. Dhoni once again failed to make an impact with just 1 run before being dismissed. Morrison expressed concerns about the performance of Ashwin, who has only taken 5 wickets in six matches and has been leaking runs. He advised CSK players not to take the game lightly as it can come back to haunt them. CSK will face Lucknow Super Giants next in their upcoming match. The team is currently struggling in the points table, languishing in ninth place with just 2 points from 6 games.
