Hilton Cartwright recently shared his experience of a frightening injury during the BBL season opener. After falling awkwardly on the field, he was taken off in a neck brace and medicab, causing concerns of potential paralysis. Fortunately, he was quickly cleared of serious damage and returned to play for the Melbourne Stars just three days later. Cartwright admitted his mind had raced to worst-case scenarios while laid out on the turf, but thankfully, he suffered only whiplash. The incident, which occurred as he dove for a ball in the outfield, left him contemplating short-term side effects, especially with a newborn at home. Despite the scare, Cartwright has been able to move past it and focus on his game. Meanwhile, the Stars have struggled this season, losing their first four games. They will need to win at least five of their last six matches to have a shot at making the finals. Cartwright remains optimistic, stating that the team aims to win all remaining games to improve their chances. Their next challenge will be against the Sydney Thunder.
