Cameron Green, the Australian all-rounder, has made a strategic move ahead of the IPL 2026 auction by listing himself as a batter rather than an all-rounder. This decision places him in the first set of players, giving every franchise an equal opportunity to bid for him. By doing so, Green aims to maximize his chances of landing a lucrative contract. Despite listing himself as a batter for the auction, Green will continue to play as an all-rounder in the upcoming IPL season.

Green has already showcased his skills in previous IPL seasons, scoring 707 runs in 29 matches and taking 16 wickets. He will be part of Set 1 at the auction, alongside other talented players like Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, David Miller, Sarfaraz Khan, and Prithvi Shaw. The auction will feature a total of 350 players, with 240 Indians and 110 overseas players vying for 77 available slots. Kolkata Knight Riders hold the highest purse of INR 64.30 crore, followed by Chennai Super Kings with INR 43.4 crore. The upcoming IPL auction promises to be an exciting event with Green’s strategic move potentially reshaping the bidding wars.
