Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury, as confirmed by the BCCI. Harshit Rana has been named as his replacement in the Indian squad for the tournament. Bumrah, who was a key player in India’s recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy campaign, had to leave the field during the final Test in Sydney due to a back concern. Varun Chakaravarthy has been included in the final squad, replacing Yashasvi Jaiswal. Varun impressed in the T20I series against England, becoming the top wicket-taker with 14 wickets. Rana, a newcomer in the international circuit, made his debut in November 2024 and has already showcased his talent in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. Jaiswal, along with Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube, will travel as non-travelling substitutes. India’s Champions Trophy campaign in Group A begins on February 20 against Bangladesh, followed by matches against Pakistan and New Zealand in Dubai. The squad includes Rohit Sharma as captain, Shubman Gill as vice-captain, and other key players like Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja.
