Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced a setback in their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Punjab Cricket Association Mullanpur Stadium. Despite winning their previous two matches, PBKS could not secure a victory against RCB. Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 73* and Devdutt Padikkal’s 61 runs guided RCB to a comfortable seven-wicket win. Kohli’s 67th 50-plus score in the IPL proved crucial in the chase.

PBKS, after a strong start by openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, struggled to accelerate their innings. Krunal Pandya’s 2/25 broke the opening partnership, and the middle order failed to capitalize. RCB’s bowlers, including spinner Suyash Sharma, restricted PBKS to 157 runs.

In response, RCB chased down the target with ease, with Kohli and Padikkal leading the charge. Despite some resistance from PBKS bowlers like Chahal and Arshdeep Singh, RCB reached the target with seven balls to spare. Kohli’s performance earned him the Player of the Match award, praising the team’s cohesion and intensity.
