The Rajasthan Royals are facing controversy after a narrow two-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur, where 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history as the youngest player in IPL history. Despite their disappointing season with only two wins in eight games, the team is now embroiled in accusations of match-fixing. With regular captain Sanju Samson injured, leadership and form issues persist for the team. BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani, also convenor of the Rajasthan Cricket Association ad hoc committee, publicly accused RR of suspicious behavior in the match. Bihani questioned the team’s performance in failing to chase a modest target of 181 runs, especially in the final over where they needed just nine runs to win. He also raised concerns about RR sidelining the RCA in IPL match organization and their financial arrangements with the Zila Parishad. Despite the accusations, RR has not officially responded. In the final over of the match, LSG’s Avesh Khan held his nerve, dismissing Hetmyer and limiting RR to 178/5. The franchise’s future remains uncertain amidst the ongoing controversy.
