The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has raised concerns over public criticism of their curator by Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull. The CAB requested the BCCI to exclude the two commentators from commentary duty for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) home matches. This request came after Doull suggested KKR should relocate if the curator did not provide spin-friendly tracks, and Bhogle supported the team’s need for home advantage during a panel discussion.

CAB Secretary Naresh Ojha wrote to the BCCI requesting the removal of Bhogle and Doull from commentary duty for KKR’s home games. During a recent KKR match, neither Bhogle nor Doull were on commentary duty. Sources close to Bhogle mentioned he was not scheduled for any KKR game, but it is unclear if this decision was made before or after CAB’s complaint.

Both KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and head coach Chandrakant Pandit expressed disappointment over not getting spin-friendly conditions during matches. Doull suggested KKR consider relocation if their pitch requests were not met, while Bhogle emphasized the importance of home advantage.

The CAB defended their curator, Sujan Mukherjee, stating he followed BCCI guidelines that prohibit franchises from influencing pitch conditions. The KKR team had reportedly requested a more spin-friendly surface to support their spin bowlers. The situation may change during the Qualifier 2 and Final matches at Eden Gardens.
