The BCCI is urging all IPL teams, except Punjab Kings, to assemble at their respective home venues by Tuesday to resume the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. Franchises are making arrangements for foreign players who flew back home after the suspension of the IPL last Friday. The BCCI has informed teams to keep them updated on the availability and travel plans of overseas players. Punjab Kings, facing uncertainties at their home venues, may be assigned a neutral venue for the remainder of the league.
The BCCI is planning to restart the season on May 16 at venues in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, with the final potentially pushed back to May 30 from the original date of May 25. Concerns have been raised about the availability of Australian and South African players beyond May 25, as they prepare for the World Test Championship final. The BCCI is exploring options to resume the IPL immediately after the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad have been selected as potential venues for the remaining matches of the season.
