The resumption of IPL 2025 is on the cards as the BCCI considers various options following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla mentioned that discussions will take place to review the tournament schedule and determine the best way to complete it. The tournament was suspended for a week due to tensions on the India-Pakistan border, with plans to possibly host the remaining matches in South Indian cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. The decision to restart the IPL will be made after consulting with other officials and office bearers. Player welfare and support for the Indian Armed Forces were cited as reasons for the initial suspension. Overseas players have started to leave for their homes, raising questions about the feasibility of completing the remaining 17 matches within the shortened window in May. The BCCI and IPL Governing Council will meet to make a final decision on the tournament’s future. The PSL in Pakistan was also put on hold, with the UAE rejecting their proposal to host matches.
