Mumbai Indians are making arrangements for temporary replacements should they qualify for the IPL playoffs. With English batter Will Jacks and South African keeper-batter Ryan Rickelton unavailable due to international commitments, MI is reportedly in talks to secure Jonny Bairstow and Richard Gleeson as replacements. Bairstow, who has IPL experience with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, would provide a wicketkeeping option for MI. Meanwhile, Gleeson, who made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings last year, is being considered to fill the void left by Rickelton and Corbin Bosch. Currently positioned fourth in the league table, MI has two remaining group-stage matches before the playoffs. After a slow start, they had secured six consecutive wins before their recent loss to Gujarat Titans. The potential signings of Bairstow and Gleeson aim to strengthen the team as they aim for a successful playoff campaign. Bairstow’s pending availability after his County Championship match and Gleeson’s potential involvement after missing initial T20 Blast games with Warwickshire are being closely monitored by the franchise.
